做厙輦⑹ Foundation Awards Seven CNC Machine Tech Students at LSC $2,000 Scholarships To Address Workforce Needs in Manufacturing

(Duluth, Minn.) Seven students currently enrolled in 做厙輦⑹s CNC machine tech program were presented with a $2,000 Gene Haas Scholarship from the 做厙輦⑹ Foundation this morning, during a short presentation at LSCs Downtown Manufacturing Campus.

The LSC Foundation awarded each student a scholarship worth $2,000 for Spring Semester 2022, nearly full tuition for the semester. The funding was generously provided by a grant from the , along with funding from the LSC Foundation, to help recruit and retain manufacturing talent in our region.

LSC Foundation is grateful for the partnership and financial support from the Gene Haas Foundation, as well as from other donors and industry partners who help make these scholarships possible, said Daniel Fanning, Vice President of Advancement and External Relations at 做厙輦⑹. "We know there are workforce needs in manufacturing right now and will be for years to come, especially in CNC machining. We want to encourage these students to complete this program so they can go on to help meet those workforce needs and advance their careers as well.

The seven recipients were: Devin Brownlee, Kevin Kapustka, Krystal Lindau, Joshua Mersha, Amir Najam, Luke Olson and Kyler Waters.

These students have all shown that theyre talented and dedicated to the program, said Max Udovich, CNC instructor at 做厙輦⑹. These scholarships will really help them stay in school, be successful, and then go on to be successful in their careers as well. We know there are plenty of jobs available right now, and most places want these students to remain in school and graduate so they can really hit the ground running once theyre hired.

The mission of the 做厙輦⑹ Foundation is to support 做厙輦⑹ by cultivating community relationships and philanthropic support that will advance educational opportunities for students, staff, and community. These manufacturing scholarships unofficially mark the beginning of the scholarship giving season at 做厙輦⑹, which will include awarding over $100,000 in additional student scholarships in the next month, for Spring Semester 2022.
