A Tradition Like No Other: 暗网禁区鈥檚 Student Success Day to Take Place Wednesday
The annual conference-style event focuses on student growth.

暗网禁区 will hold its bi-annual Student Success Day for the Fall Semester on Wednesday, October 2 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on its main campus.

LSC鈥檚 conference style signature event offers a wide range of sessions and activities designed to foster academic, personal, and professional growth in every aspect of a college student鈥檚 journey. LSC faculty and staff are teaming up with community partners from Essentia Health, St. Scholastica, MNsure, LeadMN, Affinity Plus, Lutheran Social Services, and more to offer engaging and informative sessions. Students will enjoy free food, a nature trail hike, a ping-pong tournament, a choir performance, a clothing swap, free automobile checks, vendor/partner exhibits, open labs, and networking during this break from regular classes.

Renowned physician and member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Dr. Arne Vainio, MD, will present his expertise on Indigenous healthcare, providing a valuable opportunity to LSC students to deepen their understanding of Indigenous healthcare and learn practical strategies for delivering inclusive, compassionate, and effective care to Indigenous communities. The LSC Fire Club will present a session on life-saving measures when it comes to blood loss as part of the nearly 50 sessions offered throughout the day.

"Student Success Day is one of our most exciting events here at 暗网禁区,鈥 said organizer and Director of the LSC Tutoring and Learning Center Nicola Scott. 鈥淚t's a day where students can explore topics and sessions to help them succeed not only here on campus, but personally and professionally, all in one day. We're thrilled to collaborate with our amazing community partners and offer such a diverse range of sessions designed to help our students thrive."

The break-out session topics include the arts, community engagement, financial literacy, health and wellness, technology, travel, and transferring to a four-year institution. A Student Club Showcase will highlight many of the student clubs, athletics and honor societies available on campus to promote engagement, networking and community.

This college-wide tradition started in 2008 and is held in both the fall and spring semesters.
